Green coffee beans keep fresh for up to 12 months.
However, once roasted things begin to change rapidly as the roasting process sets off a chemical chain reaction inside the beans which continues long after cooling, as the beans slowly release built up Co2 gas from within.
COFFEE AS ART
The chemical makeup of the roasted beans therefore reaches optimum flavour levels after cooling and degassing from between a few hours or up to four days, depending on the type of coffee, roasting time and cooling technique used. This is when coffee beans are at their freshest and taste best
FRESH IS BEST
Providing correctly packed this freshness can last a little longer, normally for around another 21 to 28 days.
For this reason, we only roast our coffee to order and deliver as soon as degassed, so you can enjoy the very freshest and best tasting coffee each and every time.
