Full-bodied decaffeinated coffee is strong and smooth, packed with flavour and is one of the nicest decaf’s we’ve ever produced. Ethyl Acetate is a chemical naturally found within coffee beans as well as most fruit and vegetables. The ethyl acetate used to decaffeinate the beans comes from the local sugar cane grown in Colombia. The beans are first steamed to open up the pores and then soaked in a mixture of water and ethyl acetate to remove the caffeine without losing any flavour before being dried. This produces a wonderful coffee which retains a full body, with hints of pear and dark chocolate. Delicious in a cafetiere or as a filter.
